Company Description

The AUTO1 Tax & Risk Management is searching for a detail oriented Indirect Tax Manager (f/m/x) to join our Indirect Tax Team. Our department is responsible for the national and international planning, implementation and monitoring of all tax matters in the AUTO1 Group. It supports our top management in all issues relating to tax law.

We are offering you a sophisticated and diverse work environment in a technology driven and growing company. You will play a pivotal role to ensure VAT compliance in our group and be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns on an international level. You support our business as a competent and reliable contact person for a wide range of tax questions.

Your new Role

  • Assist in the preparation, submission and monitoring of VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions (focus on European VAT area) and entities
  • Support the indirect team with tax investigations and audits internationally and liaise with tax authorities, finance teams and other stakeholders within the group
  • Support the optimization, automation and digitalization of our VAT processes
  • Provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders on VAT-related matters, stay updated on changes in VAT laws and regulations and assess their impact on the AUTO1 business
  • Perform ad hoc tax tasks as assigned

Your Skills

  • You hold a degree in business, economics or tax, preferably with a focus on international taxation/ national taxation
  • You already have your first hands-on experience in a similar role, ideally working in a tax consultancy firm, an accounting firm or an industrial/commercial enterprise
  • You bring a data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills
  • You have the ability to work independently with a critical approach, while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
  • You bring a responsible and proactive attitude to problem-solving 
  • You have very good Excel skills, additional experience with Data management tools or query languages (SQL) is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of European VAT rules and processes is a plus
  • You have strong communication skills in English, any German skills are a plus
